When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training in 1998, boxing as an amateur for two years. I then turned pro in 2000. I started doing MMA in 2009.
What ranks and titles have you held? I've won many World Titles in Boxing, eight World Championships to be exact: NABA Champion, 2-Time NABF Champion, 3-Time IBA Champion, 2-Time WBC Champion, and currently the title holder of the IBA World Championship Belt at 122lbs.
Do you have any heroes? My hero is my coach Dewey "Black Kobra" Cooper. He has been my coach pretty much my entire pro career. The time and energy he puts into his fighters is amazing. He's so positive and very motivating. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for him. He is a 2-Time World Champion Kickboxer and has an outstanding Professional Boxing record. I don't know when he sleeps. He works and takes care of his daughter, he's a great person, father, coach, and friend. I admire and look up to him!
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? To fight in the UFC is a dream come true. So many years of blood, sweat, and tears. It means making it to the top!
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? No
What was your job before you started fighting? I worked in a bar. I did a little of everything from bartending, busboy, waitressing, and security. I also did house cleaning.
Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? I won the Gold Medal in the 1998 Ontario Provincial Boxing Tournament.
Specific accomplishments in pro competition? I am an 8-Time World Champion Boxer. I was voted the greatest woman boxer ever in the history of the 135lb Lightweight division in 2005.
