TRAINING: In the morning, three times a week, a long distance run and speed work, and three times a week I work with weights. In the afternoon from Monday to Saturday in alternate days I do boxing, Jiu Jitsu and Wrestling, and according to the phase of the training I mix all of them.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training to fight in 2002 because I always had a dream to become an MMA world champion. Then I went to Salvador city (Bahia - Brazil) looking for master Luiz Dorea in 2003. What ranks and titles have you held? I am the # 1 in my State, and champion of Minotauro Fights I, II, III, V, Bahia State Boxing Champion 2006, 3rd Place at the Jiu-Jitsu World Championships in 2005. Do you have any heroes? Minotauro Nogueira and Anderson Silva, who are my training partners in boxing here. What is your favorite technique? Knockouts and submissions What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s a dream to be in the best MMA event worldwide; it’s the first step in order for me to conquer my goal, which is to be the best in the world. The world will know the Bahia's crocodile. Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? No What was your job before you started fighting? I used to work in the plantation to earn some money. In 2003 I met Master Dorea, who I train with. I came to Salvador City and he gave me a place to stay and food. Today I live with him; he is like my second father.
