Biography
Training: MMA sparring session in the morning, conditioning in the afternoon, and technique at night (wrestling, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu).
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started fighting and training for this sport in 1999. Then, my training was mainly kickboxing but I was always a naturally gifted athlete who learns fast. Today my training is centered on boxing, Muay Thai and submission wrestling. - I train six days a week, five hours every day.
What ranks and titles have you held? TKO World Middleweight Champion (2002 - today) / TKO Canadian Middleweight Champion (2000-2001) / Canadian Jiu Jitsu Champion (1999)/ Canadian Amateur Kickboxing Champion (1999)
Do you have any heroes? My mom and Roy Jones Jr.
What is your favorite technique? Elbows.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s like coming back home after a long trip. I feel like I’m back home, and I’m happy and grateful to be back.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I didn't go to college, but I'm planning on it. I'm still very young! I would like to major in sports psychology.
What was your job before you started fighting? I taught kids martial arts and I did some bouncing.
