Biography
Training Style
"I start with running. After that I work on my striking. Then I work on groundwork, jiu-jitsu. Then I'll spar with all of my partners. I'll get a fresh partner every couple of minutes and I just go until I can't moven any more."UFC History
UFC 30More Information
Curtis started training in boxing at age 15. "I used to want to be a boxer but when the UFC came out I knew that was what I wanted to do. I started watching tapes and training with anyone I could. I lived in Japan for a little while and trained with Enson Inoue and Carlos Newton, some of the Shooto guys over there. I was in the military so I was always gone but I always had training partners. Collegiate wrestlers. I just love training. I've always been athletic. I hooked up with the American Jiu-Jitsu guys and started training with them and that's where I am right now.""I consider myself a natural striker. I am actually more trained in jiu-jitsu but it's a funny twist because I've never actually competed in boxing or kickboxing but it comes naturally to me. I do have serious training in jiu-jitsu though."
Cutis is 1- 0- 1 in MMA competition. He won his first match by choke in 23seconds.
"Most people who see me fight say that I fight like Pele (Jose "Pele" Landy-Johns). People see fighters like him and Vanderlei Silva and think that they are just strikers but they have good groundwork. They just like to punch and kick and so do I."
On making his UFC debut: "I feel great. It's a great opportunity. I'm sure it will be a great show."
