Biography

TRAINING: Strength & Conditioning 7am to 8am, Strength Training 12pm to 1pm, MMA training 6pm to 8pm.

Thoughts on opponent, Neil Magny? Magny is a very accomplished fighter and has a record that more than speaks for itself, fighting against the top tier of welterweights throughout the world.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started Tae Kwon Do at age 11 to help control my aggression, and immediately fell in love with martial arts. I trained three hours every night and achieved my 1st degree black belt at age 15. I then become more interested with the full contact side of martial arts, but my trainer at the time wouldn't let me compete so I then moved to the local MMA gym, Lion's Den under Dave Matthews, at age 17 and have been with him since.

What ranks and titles have you held? Ultimate Impact Middleweight Champion, ranked 5th in the UK under Fightmatrix.

Do you have any heroes? My dad and Dave Matthews, my coach.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? The UFC is the pinnacle of MMA competition. To be given the opportunity to join and showcase my skills on the platform the UFC has is more than I could ever have expected when I first started martial arts. I'm from a small team, from a small town, and we've been doing big things for years now.

What was your job before you started fighting? I have always worked a full time job whilst competing. When I first started, I worked in the local supermarket, in the fruit and veg department, and I now work as an administrator for a financial services company.

Specific accomplishments in pro competition? Four-fight win streak through Cage Warriors, number 1 contender for the Cage Warriors Welterweight World Title, Ultimate Impact Middleweight Champion.
