Biography

TRAINING: I wake up early and get in my conditioning before I go to work and teach for the day. I then head to the gym and put in some striking, wrestling or Jiu-Jitsu in the afternoon.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started six years ago. I had a friend who invited me to a free week, and I thoroughly enjoyed the training and the continual learning that martial arts provide. You never know everything.

What ranks and titles have you held? I held the Australian Nitro Welterweight Title

Do you have any heroes? I have a few that I look up to that help to keep me motivated and moving forward when I need the extra bit of motivation.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s a dream come true. The opportunity to compete on the biggest stage is amazing, and to do it in front of my home country fans is even more special.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I did go to college - I studied for a Bachelor of Science sports and exercise degree and then did a postgraduate diploma for Teaching.

What was your job before you started fighting? I am a high school teacher

Favorite grappling technique: I do enjoy a good Kimura

Favorite Striking technique: Simple is effective, I find.
