When and why did you start training for fighting? I started wrestling at age 4. Boxing at age 9. I started at a Gracie gym at age 14. My father saw potential and pushed me every day to go lift or do some kind of workout.
What ranks and titles have you held? I am the youngest belt holder in Anchorage, Alaska. I got the middleweight belt when I was 19. My first couple of fights I was still in high school. I am undefeated.
Do you have any heroes? My parents are my heroes. I can't thank them enough for sponsoring me and allowing me to follow my dream.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means the world to me to fight in the UFC. This is what I have wanted since I can remember. I want this to be my job. I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I am enrolled at UAA. I still have many more years to complete. My ultimate goal in college is to graduate with a nutrition degree.
Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? I took 4th place at a 4A high school wrestling state championship.
