TRAINING: I train twice a day. Mornings are typically Boxing or Muay Thai depending on the day. The evenings may include weights and conditioning at Ross Strength and Speed, followed by MMA training at Westside MMA in Little Rock, AR.
Thoughts on opponent, Andre Winner? He's a good athlete and fighter. I think it's a very interesting matchup since we are both bean poles, as Dana likes to say.
When and why did you start training for fighting? In 1997 I started training MMA because it was something that just grabbed me. I thought that fighting would be an out of reach goal but then suddenly I was in a position to train and jumped all over it.
What titles have you held? None
Do you have any heroes? Forrest Griffin and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means that I am one of the lucky few who get to go to work in the Octagon. I can't really put into words how lucky I feel and how important it is to train to the best of my ability because I know some will never get the chance that I've been given.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes, I have a BA in Communications from the University of Little Rock
What was your job before you started fighting? Before I started fighting at this level I was an Account Executive for a Litigation company.
