A pro since 2001, Mac Danzig is no ‘overnight sensation’, despite the instant stardom he achieved when he won season six of The Ultimate Fighter. Yet the California native is unconcerned with all the trappings of being a top fighter. His only concern is what happens in the gym and in the Octagon, and with fights against Mark Bocek, Clay Guida, and Josh Neer under his belt, he’s on his way to big things.

When and why did you start training for fighting? August of 2000.   I had been a fan of the sport since 1994 when I first saw it...  I always wanted to train and when I got the opportunity, I took it on full-time.

What ranks and titles have you held? MMA national amateur MMA champion, Gladiator Challenge lightweight champion, IFC lightweight champion, 5 time King of the Cage world lightweight champion, The Ultimate Fighter season six winner.

What is your favorite technique?  Left hook to the body

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means everything.  My career in the UFC is my life and I won't let anything stop me from making a living in the in this sport.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? No

What was your job before you started fighting?  I have had many jobs growing up, most notably, I was a caretaker at an Animal Sanctuary in Pennsylvania right before I started fighting.
